You can also connect a video recorder or a DVD player to the input jacks.

OConnect the DVD-Recorder directly with your TV-set (Cable from the output jacks directly to the TV set). If there is a video recorder or another device in between, there can be distortions in the TV pictures from the 'copy protection system'.

OIf you have an SVHS video recorder you should use the

S-VIDEO (Y/C)-EXT2 jack and the AUDIO L/R (IN-EXT

2)jacks.

OYou can also use the front jacks. For more information read the chapter 'Recording on the HDD'.

Connecting a cable box with cinch or S cable

You can connect a cable box to the S-VIDEO(Y/C)-EXT2or VIDEO (CVBS)-EXT2input jacks and the AUDIO L/R (IN-EXT

2)audio jacks.

Switching between jacks S-VIDEO(Y/C)-EXT2and VIDEO (CVBS)-EXT2is done automatically. If a signal is available at both jacks at the same time, the signal at the S-VIDEO(Y/C)-EXT2jack has priority.

The antenna cable should also be connected to the cable box and the DVD recorder as shown.

Connect the DVD-Recorder directly with your TV-set (Cable from the output jacks S-VIDEO(Y/C)-OUT2or VIDEO (CVBS)-OUT2directly to the TV set). If there is a video recorder or another device in between, there can be distortions in the TV pictures from the 'copy protection system'.

If you want to connect a cable box only via antenna cable, please observe the following:

he DVD-Recorder have to be directly connected to the TV set. If there are other devices (video recorder, decoder, satellite receiver,...) in between, there can be distortions in the TV pictures from the 'copy protection system'.

The cable box have to be connected before the DVD-Recorder (cable box - DVD-Recorder - TV set). On the jack TV OUT only the TV have to be connected.

•) If there is interference in the picture when the cable TV box is switched on, a TV broadcaster may be transmitting on the same channel or a channel very close to that of the cable TV box. (e.g.: TV broadcaster on channel 3, cable TV box also on channel 3). In this case, change the channel of the cable TV box.

You must also store this channel on the DVD recorder to be able to record TV programs from the cable TV box.

The antenna cable should also be connected to the cable box and the DVD-Recorder as shown.

Switch on the additional device during the installation of the DVD recorder. During the automatic channel search, the channel on which the additional device is transmitting will be stored as a TV channel.
