The DVD will play back in the language you have chosen.

You have the option of setting one of the displayed languages for the on-screen menu (OSD). However, the DVD recorder display will only display English text regardless of this setting.

5Select the appropriate setting using B or A and confirm with OK .

6To end, press SYSTEM MENU .

Setting the time and date automatically

This feature automatically sets the time and date using the information transmitted by the local PBS channel. You need to enter the PBS channel that transmits this additional information. If an incorrect PBS channel is selected by the DVD recorder, or if the time/date is not displayed correctly, you need to set the time/date manually (see 'Setting the time & date manually').

Attention!

If data from the TV Guide On Screensystem were loaded, you can not change the clock/date because this information was taken from the TV Guide On Screensystem. Therefore you can not select this function.

1Press the BROWSER HDD button and then the SYSTEM MENU button on the remote control.

P The 'SYSTEM MENÜ' appears.

2Select 'Set up' using B .

3Press C to select 'System'.

4Select the line 'Installation' using B and confirm with C . P A message appears on the screen that the change of this

setting will flush the 'Time Shift Buffer'.

O If the 'Time Shift Buffer ' contains important recordings, save them with the REC/OTR n button first. Read additional information to the 'Time Shift Buffer' in the chapter 'The Time Shift Buffer'.

5Select 'Yes' with D and confirm with OK .

O If the message window was closed, confirm the line with C again.

6Select 'Time/Date' using B or A and confirm with C .

7Select 'Automatic' with B or A and confirm with C .

a'Not allowed' will appear on the TV screen

bThe time/date will automatically be taken from the TV Guide On ScreenSystem. Therefore you can not set the time/date manually.

8Select the corresponding line with B or A .

9In 'PBS Channel' select the channel that transmits the time and date information and confirm with OK . The DVD recorder checks whether the information can be transferred.

aThe following message appears on the screen: 'Clock not set, check channel'

bTime/date information cannot be transferred from this TV channel. Select a different TV channel or 'Automatic' in the 'PBS Channel' line.

0In the line 'Daylight Saving', select one of the following:

'On': The time set corresponds to summer time (summer time activated)

'Off': The time set corresponds to winter time (summer time deactivated)

AIn 'Time Zone' select your current time zone if a PBS channel in a different time zone has been entered. Only this way can you set or adjust the time correctly.

If you want to use the time zone of the PBS channel, select 'Automatic'.

BConfirm by pressing OK .

CTo end, press SYSTEM MENU .

The time and the data are automatically transferred from the selected 'PBS channel' after the unit has been switched off.
