12.2 Picture Menu

The Picture Menu gives you access to display settings. See below for an overview.

Color Settings

Select a colour setting from the list

 

(Personal, Soft, Animation, Rich, Natural).

Brightness

Adjusts the Brightness for the ‘Personal’ colour setting.

Contrast

Adjusts the Contrast for the ‘Personal’ colour setting.

Saturation

Adjusts the Saturation for the ‘Personal’ colour setting.

TV Settings

TV Shape

The TV Shape you select must be supported by

 

 

movie. If not, the TV Shape settings will not affect

 

 

the picture.

 

 

Choose 4:3 pan-scan, 4:3 letterbox or

 

 

16:9 widescreen. (see below for an explanation)

 

Video Output

If your TV has an RGB enabled external input,

 

 

choose Scart (RGB) for highest picture quality.

 

 

Else, choose Video (CVBS).

Advanced (TV Settings)

For adjusting advanced settings like Horizontal and Vertical

 

position, Gamma, Chroma Delay and Black Level.

 

See the Glossary on page 53 for an explanation.

 

Leave these settings at their default values,

 

unless you have an explicit reason for changing them.

TV Shape

Choose 16:9 Widescreen

if you have a widescreen TV.

Choose 4:3 Letterbox

if you have a standard TV, and if you select to have black bars at the top and bottom of

the screen.

Choose 4:3 Pan-Scan

– if you have a standard TV and if you select to have both sides of the picture trimmed to fit your TV screen.
