To receive scrambled DTV signals you will need a CA (Conditional Access) module and a Smart card provided by the service provider.
A CA module can enable additional services, for example Pay TV.
Contact your Common Interface service provider to get more information about these modules. Although CA module types may vary dependent on the manufacturer, each one of the CA modules supports a certain kind of encryption system.Your TV supports CA modules to work with the

CA modules and smart cards are neither supplied nor optional accessories from Philips.
The CA module is responsible for the messages and texts on screen. In case of failure or strange behaviour, you must call your CI service broadcaster.
Insert a CA module
<Insert the specified Conditional Access module into the Common Interface slot as far as it will go. It may take a few minutes before the CA module is activated and service information is downloaded.
Warning: when you connect the CA module incorrectly, it may damage the card and the TV. After inserting a card, leave it in the slot permanently. Do not remove it from the slot unless asked to do so. For example, your card has to be in the slot when your CI service broadcaster wants to download new information to the smart card. Once the CA module is removed, your TV will no longer decrypt scrambled digital
