40 Quick Find

The Quick Find feature locates the beginning of each recording on a tape, then plays the first portion of the recording at high speed for 30 seconds. After it plays the portion, the VCR fast forwards the tape to the next recording. This process is repeated until the end of the tape is reached, or until you stop the Quick Find.

To start a Quick Find, press the QUICK-FIND button on the remote control, or follow the steps below.

Press the MENU button repeatedly until the SEARCH SELECT menu appears.

Press the PLAY button or the STOP button repeatedly to select QUICK-FIND, then press the F.FWD button. The VCR will fast forward the tape to the beginning of the next recording. The VCR will play the tape at high speed for 30 sec- onds, then go to the next recording.

To skip immediately to the beginning of the next recording on the tape, press the QUICK-FIND button on the remote control.

To resume normal tape playback, press the PLAY button.

Helpful Hints

There must be a tape in the VCR.

This function will not operate during a recording.

To cancel a Quick Find that is in progress, press the STOP button.

When the end of a tape is reached during a Quick Find, the VCR will rewind the tape. Details are on page 41.
