Press the Number 1 button to record in SP speed, the Number 2 button to record in LP speed, or the Number 3 button to record in SLP speed. Your selection will appear to the right of REC SPEED on-screen, although SP=1 LP=2 SLP=3 will continue to flash. For details about tape speed, see pages 36 and 56. You cannot use the (Tape) SPEED button at this time.

Press the STATUS/EXIT button. PROGRAM WAS COM-

PLETED / PLEASE TURN OFF VCR FOR TIMER RECORDING should appear on the screen. After three seconds, the on-screen display will disappear.

Press the POWER button to turn off the VCR power. The Timer light will appear. The Timer light will flash if there is not a tape in the VCR.

If the timer recording will take place several hours or days from now, you may use the VCR until time for the recording. Just turn off the VCR a few minutes before the recording starts.

The VCR must be turned off for a timer recording to take place. If you forget to turn off the VCR, PLEASE TURN OFF VCR FOR TIMER RECORDING flashes on your TV screen two minutes before a timer recording starts. You can remove the mes- sage by pressing the CLEAR button.

Helpful Hints

To exit the VCR Plus+ programming system at any time, press the STA- TUS/EXIT button. The display will disappear from the TV screen.

If the preset time for a timer recording comes up during an OTR, the OTR has priority.

To stop a started timer recording, press the STOP/EJECT button on the VCR.

If the power fails for more than one minute, programmed timer record- ings may be lost. Reset the clock before re-programming the timer recordings.

If you are using a Cable Box/DSS Receiver, timer recordings are pro-

grammed differently. See page eight for details.
