Connecting the Camera to a Personal Computer with the F5

To connect the Nikon F5 camera to your personal computer, use only Nikon Personal Computer Connecting Cord MC-33. A data link cannot be established with any other connecting cord.

Connecting

1. Turn off both the camera and personal computer.

2.Connect the MC-33 to the camera's 10-pin remote terminal.

Insert the cord's plug into the terminal with the "A" symbol pointing to the right, then turn the lock screw as far as it will go. (Fig. 11)

3.Connect the MC-33 to the personal computer's RS-232C serial port.

Match the shape of the cord's connector with the personal computer's terminal, then push it in and tighten the two screws on the plug.

4.Turn the computer on, start Windows®, then turn the camera on.

Disconnecting

1. Quit Windows®, then switch off both the camera and personal computer.

2.Remove the cord's connector from the personal computer.

Loosen the two screws on the connector, then pull it out.

3.Remove the cord's plug from the camera body. Unscrew the lock ring, then unplug the cord. (Fig. 12)
