Taking pictures and videos

Using optical zoom

Use optical zoom to enlarge your subject by up to 3X. You can change the optical zoom during video recording.

Zoom indicator

Red and yellow:

Blue: Optical range

Images taken in the red range should not be printed due to the decline in the Border of the digital zoom and optical

1Use the camera screen to frame your subject.

2Press the Zoom button T (Telephoto) to zoom in. Press W (Wide Angle) to zoom out.

3The zoom indicator appears on the camera screen. Press the Zoom button T to move the indicator upward, and the Zoom button W to move it downward.

4Take a picture or video.

Using digital zoom

Use digital zoom in any still mode to get additional magnification beyond optical zoom. Combined zoom settings are from 3X to 15X.

1Press the Zoom button T (Telephoto) to the optical zoom limit.

2Release the button, then press it again.

The camera screen displays the zoomed image and the zoom indicator.

IMPORTANT: You may notice decreased print image quality when using digital zoom. The blue slider on the zoom indicator pauses and turns red when the picture quality reaches the limit for an acceptable 4 x 6 in. (10 x 15 cm) print.

3Take a picture normally.

NOTE: You cannot use digital zoom during video recording.
