SETTING UP THE SHOOTING FUNCTION

METERING / Down button

When the menu is displayed on the LCD monitor, pressing the button makes the cursor shift to down or changes the sub menu.

When the menu is not displayed on the LCD monitor, the button operates as the METERING button. This button can be used to obtain the right exposure.

1.Turn the camera power on.

2.Rotate the mode dial to the shot mode. (Still image, Night scene, Movie clip).

3.Do not turn the LCD monitor off.

4.If the desired metering mode indicator is displayed on the LCD monitor when pressing the METERING button,

the function is ready for recording.

5. Take a picture.

Center Weighted Average metering :

Exposure will be calculated based on an average of the light available in the image area. However, the calculation will be biased towards the centre of the image area

CENTER metering :

Use this function when there is backlight or when photographing a subject that has little contrast. In backlighting conditions adjust the light metering to suit the subject matter.

Reference

The default of the metering mode is Center Weighted Average metering Adjustments to the metering will not change until the camera is switched off.
