REMOVING THE FRICTION CAP

The KiWi+ needs to be disassembled in order to install or change detent discs. The detent discs come in various settings and pro- vide the different angular click-stops. (NOTE: See Disc Selec- tion Chart In Appendix A).

To start, the friction cap must be removed. Loosen the knob located on the side of the friction cap. It does not have to be removed from the cap, but just backed out far enough so that the cap can be unscrewed from the axle. Unscrew the cap. At- tached to the cap is a rubber washer with a nylon facing.
