4Turn the mode dial to Setup (a).

The SETUP MENU appears in the color LCD.

5Use the LCD scroll down button to highlight

FORMAT MEDIA.

6Press the OK button.

7Use the LCD scroll buttons to highlight YES and then press OK. A message asks if you are sure you want to format memory.

8Highlight YES and then press OK. The camera displays the message,

FORMAT COMPLETE.

9Press OK and return to the SETUP MENU. (If you select NO, the camera returns to the SETUP MENU without formatting memory.)

10To exit the SETUP MENU, turn the mode dial to another setting.

Note: If you cannot format the card, it may be defective. Return it to the retailer where you purchased it.
