lPC-Mode (Downloading Images to a PC)

nNOTE

The HS-V12 PC and Macintosh® Connection Kit is NOT included with the GC-S5 Digital Still Camera.

In PC-mode, you can connect the camera to a Windows® or Macintosh® computer using the serial cable supplied with the PC and Macintosh® Connection Kit (optional). You can then transfer image data in either direction or control photography from your computer.

In this mode, you should use the AA-V101 AC Power Adapter supplied with the GC-S5 to avoid data transfer interruption caused by an exhausted battery.

!CAUTIONS

Always switch all the devices off before you connect them together.

Install the PC and Macintosh® Connection Kit on your personal computer before you connect the camera and computer together.

Switch the camera off and

plug one end of the supplied

 

serial cable into the DIGITAL

 

socket on the camera.

 

 

 

! CAUTION

 

 

Do not plug anything other than the

 

supplied serial cable into the DIGITAL

 

socket as this could cause a fault. Check

 

also that the plug is inserted fully into the

socket.

Connect the other end of the

connection cable to the

 

personal computer.
