Recording Modes

Taking Pictures with the Zoom

Applicable modes:

You can zoom-out to record landscapes etc. in wide angle (Wide) or zoom-in to make people and objects appear closer (Tele).

With the manual ring

1Set the manual ring selector switch to [ZOOM].

2Rotate the manual ring.

With the zoom lever

Rotate the zoom lever.

The smaller the rotation angle is, the slower the zoom speed becomes; the greater the rotation angle is, the faster the zoom speed becomes.

Optical Zoom

Zooms in without deteriorating the image quality.

Maximum magnification: 16k

Extended Optical Zoom (EX)

This function works when any of the picture sizes (P38) indicated with is selected. You can zoom in further than you can with the Optical Zoom without deteriorating the image quality.

Maximum magnification: 32k

Intelligent Zoom

Applicable modes:

You can zoom in up to twice the original zoom magnification while minimizing the deterioration of the image quality.
