Setting Flash

Confirm that the lens is facing the front. Otherwise, the flash does not fire.

Access the menu in the recording mode. (P17)

Select the desired item from Flash.

•Select the item from the table on the right.

Item		Details of Setting
Auto [	]	The flash fires
		automatically according
		to the lighting
		conditions.
Reduced red		The flash fires
eye [	]	automatically according
		to the recording
		situation.
		It reduces the red eye
		phenomenon (When a
		subject’s eyes appear
		red in flash light).
		Use it when you take
		pictures of people or
		animals in low lighting
		conditions.
Flash off		Even in dark places, the
[ ]		flash does not fire.
		Use it when you take
		pictures in places where
		using flash is not
		allowed.

Flash on

[ ]

The flash fires every time a picture is captured.

Use it when your subject is back-lit or under fluorescent light.
