CHOOSING AN ENCLOSURE

To get the best performance from your subwoofer, you must mount it inside an enclosure. An enclosure makes your subwoofer more efficient and improves its sound quality.

Some common enclosure designs are:

Acoustic suspension (sealed)

Ported reflex (vented)

Single reflex bandpass (vented)

For more information about a single reflex bandpass en- closure, see “Single Reflex Bandpass (vented)” on Page 2.

To learn more about and build an acoustic suspension or ported reflex enclosure, we recommend you use the book Building Speaker Systems (Cat. No. 62-1087A, available at your local RadioShack store) along with this Owner’s Manual. That book has complete information about build- ing enclosures, including obtaining construction materi- als, and design and construction tips.

Note: Check with RadioShack Unlimited for a pre-built enclosure for this subwoofer.

PRO-CSW1200 specifications

Radio Shack has long been a household name in electronics, and one of its standout products is the PRO-CSW1200 scanner. This versatile and powerful radio scanner is designed for both amateur enthusiasts and serious ham radio operators alike. Its primary function is to receive a wide range of frequencies, making it an excellent tool for staying informed about local events, emergencies, and other communication channels.

One of the most notable features of the PRO-CSW1200 is its broad frequency coverage. The scanner operates within a wide spectrum, typically from 25 MHz to 1,300 MHz. This allows users to listen to a diverse array of communications, ranging from police and fire departments to amateur radio operators and marine frequencies. The ability to monitor both analog and digital signals makes this scanner highly adaptable to various communication methods.

The scanner is equipped with advanced scanning technology, including conventional scanning and trunked system scanning. Conventional scanning allows for straightforward monitoring of individual frequencies, while trunked system scanning is essential for following more complex communications networks, such as those used by public safety agencies. The PRO-CSW1200 can handle multiple trunked systems, facilitating seamless switching between channels without missing important communications.

Another standout characteristic of the PRO-CSW1200 is its user-friendly interface. The device typically features a digital display that shows the frequency, signal strength, and the currently monitored channel. This information is crucial for users who want to ensure optimal reception. Additionally, the scanner usually comes with programmable memory channels, allowing users to save frequently listened-to frequencies for quick access.

Connectivity is another strong point of the PRO-CSW1200. Many models come with the capability to connect external antennas, enhancing reception and signal clarity. This is especially important for users in areas with challenging reception conditions or for those looking to expand their scanning range.

The PRO-CSW1200 also emphasizes portability. Its compact design usually makes it easy to transport, allowing users to take it on outdoor adventures, road trips, or anywhere they may need to stay connected. Battery operation options further enhance this portability, enabling users to monitor frequencies even when away from a power source.

In conclusion, the Radio Shack PRO-CSW1200 is an exceptional radio scanner that caters to a wide range of needs. With extensive frequency coverage, advanced scanning capabilities, user-friendly design, and portable features, it remains a reliable choice for those interested in exploring the world of radio communications. Whether for personal use or as part of a more serious hobby, the PRO-CSW1200 offers a comprehensive solution for monitoring a diverse spectrum of signals.
