2.5 Switching on for the ﬁrst time 15

If the digital receiver no longer reacts properly to remote con- trol commands, the batteries may be ﬂat. Be sure to remove used batteries. The manufacturer accepts no liability for the damage resulting from leaking batteries.

NOTE

Batteries, including those which contain no heavy metals, may not be disposed of with household waste. Please dispose of used batteries in an environmentally sound manner. Find out about the legal regulations which apply in your area.

2.5.2 Powering on and checking picture

Now, press the button in top left corner on the remote con- trol.

If the picture is good, you can skip to § 4.1.4 to search for the available television and radio services. Otherwise, you may need to temporarily connect the composite video connector (VIDEO) to your television set so that you can see the on-screen menus in order to conﬁgure the video settings.
