to back up and restore personal information from phone to PC or to another phone.

Modem setup

Modem setup installs the following components on your PC:

N8910 data and fax modem adapters which enable you to use your phone as a modem in data and fax calls.

Nokia Modem Options software to set options for the data calls you make. The settings for HSCSD and GPRS are contained here.

GPRS - General Packet Radio Service

See also GPRS modem settings on page 52.

HSCSD - High-Speed Circuit Switched Data

With the GSM high-speed data service, you can use the Internet and other services more quickly than usual. For example, Internet connection and sending or receiving e-mail is faster. You can use high- speed functionality when your phone is connected to a computer via an IR connection or Bluetooth, and when the modem drivers supporting high-speed data software are installed on your computer and selected as an active modem.

Note that sending data in HSCSD mode drains the phone’s battery faster than normal voice or data calls as the phone is sending data more quickly. For continuous usage, connect the phone to a charger.

Using data communications applications

Activate the IR connection (Menu 9) or Bluetooth connection (Menu 10) on your phone.
