Message received

Text messaging is a network service that allows you to send and receive text messages with your phone (see “Text messages” on page 76). Check with your service provider for details.

When you receive a text message, the phone displays

0HVVDJH UHFHLYHG and the indicator, and makes a sound (depending on the “Message alert tone”; see page 52).

To read the message, press 5HDG. This takes you to the Inbox, with the new message selected. Press 5HDG again to read the message.

Message settings

Text messaging is a network service that allows you to send and receive text messages with your phone (see “Text messages” on page 76). Check with your service provider for details.

You can specify some of the ways your phone handles text messages. Depending on your SIM card, you can have up to five “sets” of settings—for example, one for e-mail messages, one for pages, one for faxes, etc.

Specifying a set of message settings
