Text entry

Some features let you enter text.

Your phone provides convenient ways to enter words, letters, punctuation, and numbers whenever you are prompted to enter text (for example, when adding a Contacts entry or when using Mail and SMS Text Messaging).

To change the character input mode:

When you display a screen where you can enter text, press the right softkey (<) to change the character input mode.

Select one of the following options:

Word

Enter text using a predictive text

English

entering system that lets you enter

 

a word with fewer keypresses.

Cycle through the alpha

 

characters associated with the

 

letters on the keypad.

 

 

Numbers

Enter numbers by pressing the

 

numbers on the keypad.

 

 

Symbols

Enter symbols.

Enter Spanish text using predictive

Spanish

text like Word English.

 

 

Insert

Enter preprogrammed messages.

Preset Msg

 

When entering text, press the * (Shift) key to change letter capitalization (Abc > ABC > abc).

Word English mode

Word English Text Input lets you enter text into your phone by pressing keys just once per letter.
