Making a Private PTT Call

1.From the home screen, press I to open the Push

to Talk menu, scroll to a contact or group, then press I.

Press M > Amp’d PTT, scroll to a PTT contact, then press I

2.To speak during a PTT call, wait for the Ready to Speak tone, then press and hold I and

begin speaking.

Release I to let the other party speak. (Only one person can speak at a time.)

If nobody speaks for 20 seconds, the call ends.

3.Press P to end the call.

If the other party ends the call, you do not have to do anything.

Release I let the other party speak. (Only one person can speak at a time.)

Tip: If you originate a call to someone who is actively engaged in a standard wireless call or a PTT call, you hear the Ready to Speak tone and your voice message is stored. The other party can either answer or ignore your call. It the party answers your call, you will both hear the Floor Free tone (a single high pitched beep).

Making a Group PTT Call

You must create and save a group before you can call it (see page 46).

Press I.

1.Scroll to the group you want to call.

2.Press and hold I.

When the audio path is ready and the group is available, you hear the Ready to Speak tone.

3.While continuing to hold I, speak your message. Release I to let the group members speak.

4.Press P to end the call.

Sending a Call Me Alert

You can send an alert only to a contact saved in your PTT Contacts list. The recipient can ignore the alert or accept it and begin a PTT call with you.

From the home screen:

1.Press I.

2.Scroll to the PTT contact you want to call.

3.Press Options a.

4.Select Call Me alert.

The receiving party’s phone beeps and displays a message. The message remains until the other party accepts or ignores it.

5.When you hear the recipient’s voice (which indicates that he/she has accepted the alert), press I and wait for the Ready to Speak tone.

6.While continuing to hold I, speak your message. Release I to let the other party speak.

7.Press P to end the call.

If the other party ends the call, you do not have to do anything.

Receiving a PTT Call

When your phone receives a private or group PTT call, you hear the caller through the handsfree speaker, and your phone plays the Open Floor tone.

In a private call, your phone displays PTT Call along with the caller’s contact name or phone number.
