Whilebicyclescanbeanenjoyablemeansofrecreationortransportation,youshouldrecognizetheresponsibilitiesrequiredforsafeoperation.Itis important that all usersunderstandtherules of safe riding and are properly prepared for all riding conditions. K2 Bike stronglyrecommendsa formalcourseinbicyclesafety.Also,followthesegeneralguidelinesforsafeoperation:

1.AlwayswearprotectiveclothingincludinganANSIorSnellapprovedbicyclehelmet, eyeprotection,andgloves.Be certainthatyourclothingcannotbecomeentangledinthechainringsorwheels.

2.Makesurethebicyclefitstherider,andthattheridercaneasilyreachandoperatethecontrols.

3.Alwaysabidebytrafficlawswhenridingontheroad.Usehandsignals,ridewithtraffic,andalwaysridesinglefile whenridingwithagroup.Ridedefensively.Bealert.Youmaybehardformotoriststosee.Bereadytostopsuddenly andavoidhazardsatalltimes.

4.Ifyouintendtorideatnight,donotremovethestandardreflectorsonyourbike.K2Bikestronglyrecommendsthe use of aftermarket lights front and rear. It is important that you can see and be seen in the darkness. Reflective clothingisalsorecommended.

CAUTION: Girvin strongly recommends that you add proper front and rear lights if bicycle will ridden at night

!or in low light situations. Night riding without lights can be extremely dangerous, and can result in the rider running into something, or being run in to, causing severe injuries or death.
