1 Spin speed selector dial

The spin speed can be varied as follows:

Cotton & linen: from 1250 (max) to 500 (min) rpm for model FJS 1397 W, from 1050 (max) to 300 (min) rpm for model FJS 1197 W and from 1450 (max) to 700 (min) rpm for model FJS 1597 W.

Mixed fabrics and delicates: from 650 (max) to 300 (min) rpm.

Wool: from 1000 (max) to 300 (min) rpm.

NOTE: The spin speeds marked on the dial refer to spin speeds for cotton and linen programmes. To select 650 rpm for mixed fabrics and delicates and 1000 rpm for wool, the spin speed selector dial should be positioned to the max. setting (1250, 1050 or 1450, depending on the model).

To select 300 rpm it should be positioned to the min. setting (500, 300 or 700).

2 Heavy soil button

By pressing the heavy soil button, the machine will take in cold water only on programmes with a water temperature of 50°-60°-95°C (programmes B-C and J). These would normally be hot and cold.

The water is then gradually heated to the required temperature. The effect is to improve the overall wash performance, particularly on biological stains such as egg, blood and grass stains, and heavily soiled fabrics, since the longer «cool-soak» phase as the water heats up provides the right conditions for the powder and the water temperature to interact, and achieve the best possible results.

3 Quick wash button

By depressing this button on programmes B, C, D and J the wash time is reduced.

This is suitable only for garments which are lightly soiled.

4 Rinse Hold Plus button

Press this button to make the machine stop with water in the drum after the cotton, synthetic or delicate wash cycles.

This prevents any creasing which may occur if the clothes are left damp in the drum. When it is convenient for you to empty the machine, simply press this button again so that the machine can proceed to drain and spin, or turn the dial to the drain programme “ R”.

If this button is not activated, the washing programmes will end with a spin.

Do not press this button for woollens: wool items should be gently spun.

5 On/Off button

By depressing this button the machine starts operating. When depressed again, the machine stops.

6 Mains-on light

This light illuminates when the machine starts working and goes out when the ON/OFF button is released.

7 Programme selector dial

Push the dial to pop it out.

Turn the dial clockwise to select the required wash programme.

Before setting the dial to any position the machine must be switched off by depressing the ON/OFF button again.
