The Nautico1 operates on VHF Marine Radio Service frequencies, in compliance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirements. Recreational boaters are not currently required to have a Ship Radio License. The USCG rec- ommends that the boat's registration number and state be used for the radio call sign.
