DIGITAL – Selects an optical or coaxial digital signal.

When set to DIGITAL or AUTO, 2 DIGITAL lights when a Dolby Digital signal is input, and DTS lights when a DTS signal is input.

Selecting the multichannel analog inputs

If you have connected a decoder or a DVD player with multichannel analog outputs to this receiver (page 14), you must select the analog

multichannel inputs for surround sound. 1

1Make sure you have set the playback source to the proper output setting.

For example, you might need to set your DVD player to output multichannel analog audio.

2Press DVD/LD.

3Press SIGNAL SELECT to select the multichannel analog inputs.

DVD 5.1ch shows in the display and the ANALOG indicator lights.

Selecting the front audio inputs

When playing back a component connected to the MCACC/AUDIO IN jack on the front panel, set the source to F.AUDIO on the receiver.

1Press F.AUDIO (SHIFT+DVD) on the remote control.

You can also select the source by pressing VIDEO/FRONT AUDIO on the front panel.

2Playback the connected component.

Note

1• During playback from the multichannel inputs, you can’t use any of the sound features/modes and only the volume and chan- nel levels can be set.

You can’t listen to your speaker B (Second Zone) system during playback from the multichannel inputs.
