Appendix A: Setting the IP Address

Although most MC Control users will never have to set a static Internet Proto- col (IP) address, the MC Control does allow it in the rare cases that require it.

Normally the MC Control uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain its IP address, typically from a router. The MC Control reverts to link-local addressing to generate an IP address if a DHCP server is not found on the network, such as when an MC Control is connected directly to a com- puter with an Ethernet cable. Both of these methods of obtaining IP ad- dresses can be overridden by supplying a static IP address, which the MC Control uses in all cases when powered on.

CAUTION: Attempt this only if you have prior experience configuring a network.

To set a static IP address:

1.While holding down the PAGE W and PAGE X keys simultaneously, press and release the POWER button.

The Network Setup screen appears on the Touchscreen.
