Service Reminder

Call your Lennox service technician if the unit will not oper- ate. Before calling, always check the following to be sure service is required:

1 − Check that electrical disconnect switches are ON.

2 − Check room thermostat for proper setting.

3 − Replace any blown fuses or reset circuit breakers.

4 − Gas valve should be ON.

5 − Air filter should not be plugged, which will limit air flow. 6 − Is gas turned on at meter?

7 − Is manual main shut−off valve open?

Record the model and serial number of the furnace. These numbers are on the unit nameplate, which is located on the blower deck below the combustion air inducer.

Safety Precautions

If you discover any of the following, shut down your unit, and contact a Lennox dealer for an inspection by a licensed professional service technician (or equiva- lent).

D If you repeatedly hear any new or unfamiliar sounds while your unit is operating, there may be a problem. For example, poorly performing burners can produce unfa- miliar noises.

DIf you smell any unusual odors, your unit may be operat- ing improperly. For example, units can give off unfamil- iar odors if components are required to operate in ab- normal conditions.

DLook for visible signs of a malfunctioning unit. Examples include unusual amounts of condensate on windows in- side your house, visibly burnt components or unusual dirt or rust accumulations on the vent pipe or in the unit.

DIf you experience headache, nausea, fatigue, or dizzi- ness, the cause could be exposure to carbon monoxide gas. This is often misdiagnosed as the flu because symptoms are similar. If you suffer from flu−like symp- toms that are exaggerated at home, but seem to sub- side while you are away from the house, exposure to carbon monoxide could be the cause.

Your vigilance may pay off in early detection of a problem before either personal injury or property damage occurs. Do not hesitate to contact a qualified service technician as an investment in your well being.

Planned Service

You should expect a service technician to check the follow- ing items during an annual inspection. Power to the unit must be shut off for the service technician’s safety.

Fresh air grilles and louvers (on the unit and in the room where the furnace is installed) − Must be open and unob- structed to provide combustion air.

Burners − Must be inspected for rust, dirt, or signs of water.

Vent pipe − Must be inspected for signs of water, damaged or sagging pipe, or disconnected joints.

Unit appearance − Must be inspected for rust, dirt, signs of water, burnt or damaged wires, or components.

Blower access door − Must be properly in place and pro- vide a seal between the return air and the room where the furnace is installed.

Return air duct − Must be properly attached and provide an air seal to the unit.

Operating performance − Unit must be observed during operation to monitor proper performance of the unit and the vent system.

Combustion gases − Flue products must be analyzed and compared to the unit specifications.

Problems detected during the inspection may make it nec- essary to temporarily shut down the furnace until the items can be repaired or replaced.

Pay attention to your furnace. Situations can arise be- tween annual furnace inspections that may result in unsafe operation. For instance, items innocently stored next to the furnace may obstruct the combustion air supply. This could cause incomplete combustion and the production of car- bon monoxide gas.

ML180UHE, Gas Furnace specifications

Lennox International Inc is well-known for its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and efficiency in the HVAC industry. One of their standout offerings is the EL195DFE Series gas furnace, designed to provide optimum heating performance while maintaining energy efficiency.

The EL195DFE Series gas furnace operates with an impressive Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating of up to 95 percent. This means that 95 percent of the fuel consumed is converted into usable heat, ensuring lower energy bills and a reduced environmental footprint. The high-efficiency rating makes it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to upgrade their heating system without sacrificing comfort.

A notable feature of the EL195DFE Series is its two-stage heating capability. This technology allows the furnace to adjust its heating output based on the home’s requirements, operating at a lower capacity during milder conditions and ramping up its output during colder weather. This not only enhances comfort by reducing temperature fluctuations, but it also contributes to energy savings, as the system does not run at full capacity unnecessarily.

Additionally, the EL195DFE Series is equipped with a variable-speed blower motor. This feature ensures that air is distributed evenly throughout the home, reducing hot and cold spots. The variable speed operation also contributes to quieter operation, allowing for a more peaceful indoor environment.

One of the key characteristics of the EL195DFE Series is its robust construction and reliability. The furnace is built with high-quality materials, designed to withstand years of use while minimizing the likelihood of breakdowns. Furthermore, Lennox provides an extensive warranty for this product, giving homeowners peace of mind regarding their investment.

Designed with ease of installation and maintenance in mind, the EL195DFE Series gas furnace includes a user-friendly control board and an integrated condensing design, which simplifies maintenance while providing efficient condensate management.

In summary, the Lennox EL195DFE Series gas furnace exemplifies advanced engineering and technology in home heating solutions. With its high AFUE rating, two-stage heating, variable-speed blower motor, and durable construction, it stands out as an energy-efficient option that promises comfort, reliability, and reduced energy costs for homeowners looking for an upgrade to their heating systems. Lennox continues to lead the market in HVAC innovations, making their products a sought-after choice for conscientious consumers.
