What type and size of battery should I use?

 

We recommend deep-cycle batteries that are sealed

 

and maintenance free. Both AGM and Gel-Cell are

 

deep-cycle batteries that are similar in performance.

 

Do not use wet-cell batteries, which have removable

 

caps. Refer to the specifications table for information.

 

NOTE: Sealed batteries are not serviceable. Do

 

not remove the caps.

BATTERY STRAPS

To change a battery in your PMV:

WARNING! Corrosive chemicals are contained in batteries. Use only AGM or Gel-Cell batteries to reduce the risk of leakage or explosive conditions.

WARNING! Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wash hands after handling.

1.Remove the key from the key switch.

2.Remove the seat and rear shroud. See VII. “Com- fortAdjustments.”

3.Disconnect the battery tie-down strap. See figure 12.

4.Pull back the terminal boot and disconnect the battery cables from the battery terminals. See fig- ure 13.

5.Remove the old battery.

6.Place a new battery in the battery well.

7.Reconnect the red positive (+) battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminal. See figure 14.

8.Reconnect the black or blue negative (-) battery cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

NOTE: Ensure both battery terminals are cov- ered with the terminal boots. See figure 12.

10.Reconnect the battery tie-down strap.

11.Reinstall the rear shroud and seat.
