SPECIAL FEATURES
Brake Release Levers
For your convenience, your Alero is equipped with two brake release levers. The brake release lever can be located on the rear of each motor. (Fig. 12) These levers allow you to disengage the drive motors and maneuver the power wheelchair manually.

1.To ENGAGE the brakes on the motors, turn the brake release lever rearward. (Fig. 12)
2.To DISENGAGE the brakes on the motors, turn the brake release lever outward. (Fig. 13)

Wheel Locks
Wheel locks are fitted to both drive wheels. The wheel lock levers are located just in front of the drive wheels. (Fig. 14) Wheel locks should be engaged whenever you transfer in or out of your Alero and/or when the wheelchair is stationary.
WARNING!
NEVER ENGAGE YOUR WHEEL LOCKS WHILE OPERATING YOUR ALERO. YOUR ALERO IS EQUIPPED WITH A BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE WHEEL LOCKS ARE NOT TO BE USED AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR THESE BRAKES.
