Intended Use
Your Black and Decker Hair straightener has been designed for straightening hair as described in this manual.
Do not use this appliance for any other purpose. This appliance is intended for indoor consumer use only.

Electrical safety
This tool is double insulated in
accordance with EN 60335; therefore no earth wire is required. Always
check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or other liquid.
For additional protection, the installation of a Residual Current Device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
Using your appliance
•Make sure that the appliance is switched off before connecting to or disconnecting from the power supply.
•Always take care when using the appliance.
•Do not use the appliance outdoors.
•Do not operate the appliance if your hands are wet.
•Do not operate the appliance if you are barefoot.
•Guide the power supply cord neatly so it does not hang over the edge of a worktop and cannot be caught accidentally or tripped over.
•Never pull the power supply cord to disconnect the plug from the socket.
•Keep the power supply cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
•If the power supply cord is damaged during use, disconnect the appliance from the power supply immediately. Do not touch the power supply cord before disconnecting from the power supply.
•Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use, before fitting or removing parts and before cleaning.
How to use your hair straightener
•Rest the iron on a smooth heat resistant surface.
•Plug the mains cable into a suitable power supply and switch the on /off switch (3) to position l (on).
•Do not touch the styling plates (5) with finger tips. These plates should take 1 minute to heat up.
•Always test a small section of hair to ensure the plates have reached the correct temperature.
