Control Solution Results
When the control test result falls within the control range, the meter has passed the QC check and can be used to test patient blood.
If the result falls outside the expected range, repeat the test. Results that fall outside the expected range may indicate:
•procedural error
•control solution is expired, contaminated, beyond its discard date, or inadequately mixed
•code number in meter does not match code number on test strip bottle
•dirty meter or test strip holder
•problem with test strip (expired, damaged, etc)
•control solution testing temperature outside the range of
•too much or too little control solution applied to test strip
