Handset and Base Operation

Mute Function

During an active call pressing either the MUTE softkey on the handset or base (when in speakerphone mode), will disable the microphone. Press UNMUTE to return to normal two-way conversation.

Hold Function

From the handset:

Press the HOLD softkey to place a call on hold. To return to the call, press the /FLASH (on) key.

NOTE: The handset will display Call on Hold when a call is

placed on hold. A will be displayed to remind you a call is on hold. If a call remains on hold for one minute, your i 5858 handset will ring to remind you the call is being held.The phone will display Call on Hold Ringback! You have 30 seconds to return to the call before it is dropped.

From the base:

During an active call, press the HOLD softkey to place a call on hold. The SPEAKERPHONE LED will flash to indicate a call is on hold.

To return to the call, press SPEAKERPHONE.

Advanced Operations

NOTE: If a call remains on hold for one minute, your i 5858 base will ring to remind you the call is being held. The phone will display CALL ON HOLD RING BACK! You have 30 seconds to return to the call before it is dropped.

Flash Function

You can use your i 5858 with services such as call waiting.

Simply press the /FLASH (on) key on the handset or the FLASH key on the base (when in speakerphone mode) to flash the line.
