Distress alert transmission and output power

When the distress alert is transmitted (by pressing the [DISTRESS] key), the output power of the FM-8700 is automatically set to maxi- mum (25 W).

When keyboard input is prohibited

The DSC section keyboard accepts no key input while a DSC mes- sage is being transmitted. (DSC keyboard is inoperative about 3 seconds during a DSC distress call; 0.5 seconds for other DSC calls.)
