Camera Wiring

An individual category 5 or category 6 cable must be connected from the camera to the TV/Monitor.

Maximum cable length: 250 feet.

Cable type: Category 5 or category 6

IMPORTANT: NuTone cannot be responsible for improper system operation that results from interference generated by light dimmers, fluorescent lighting fixtures, and similar electrical products. Such interference must be corrected at the source.

TO HELP REDUCE THIS INTERFERENCE, ALL WIRING CONNECTED BETWEEN THE CAMERA AND TV/MONITOR MUST BE PLACED AT LEAST 12 INCHES FROM ANY A.C. POWER WIRING. AVOID RUNNING INTERCOM WIRES PARALLEL TO A.C. POWER WIRING.

Maximum Number of Camera’s

The VSUC4SK is supplied with one (1) VSC4S camera. An optional second camera; NuTone model VSC4R recessed

mount camera, or VSC4S surface mount camera can be added.

IMPORTANT: Never use any camera other than NuTone models VSC4R and VSC4S or the

TV/Monitor will be damaged.

Wiring and Mounting the Camera

The method used to mount the camera is dependent on the type of construction. During frame construction (new con-

struction), the VSC4S surface mounted camera can mount to a single gang wall box. If the installation is existing, the

VSC4S can be directly mounted to the wall surface, or to a single gang wall box that has been cut into the wall. Use one

of the follow methods that best suits your installation.

Frame Construction (New Construction)

1.At the camera location, attach a single gang wall box (purchased locally) to the wall stud. Normal mounting height is 60" from the top of the wall box to the floor.

2.Run the category 5 or category 6 cable from the TV/Monitor location to the camera location (250 ft maximum length).

3.Run the cable into the box. Leave approx 12" of extra cable in the box

4.After the finished wall surface has been applied, strip approx. 2" of outer protective jacket from the category 5, or category 6 cable.
