-While standing outside in an open area, hold the unit horizontal and parallel to the ground. Rotate yourself and the unit 360 degrees, taking at least 15 seconds for each 90-degree quadrant of the circle.

-Press the PTT button to complete calibration.

The calibration data will be stored in the transceiver memory until re-calibration becomes necessary. (See Compass Operation above.)

Battery Alert

When the battery icon ( ) blinks on the LCD panel (battery voltage below 4.9 V), recharge unit or install fresh batteries. If the batteries are not replaced, the LCD display will slowly fade until data disappears.

Batteries

There are two methods of powering the GMRS-1545:

1.Alkaline Batteries - (5 x AA size)

2.Rechargeable Ni-MH Batteries - (Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and AC/DC Wall Adapter included). Use only Audiovox approved rechargeable batteries.

NOTE: To extend battery life, avoid overcharging the batteries.
