When connecting to the AV3 input terminals on the front of the unit

You can also connect to the AV1 or AV2 input terminals on the rear of

the unit.

 

 

 

 

 

Before connecting any cables, first make sure that the power for

Preparation

Select the unit viewing channel (e.g. AV input) on the TV.

DVD [RAM] [-R] [-RW‹V›] [+R]

Release protection (disc l 28, cartridge l 28). [RAM] ≥Press [DVD].

When recording bilingual programmes [RAM]

When both M 1 and M 2 is selected on the connected equipment, you can select the audio type in playback. [-R][-RW‹V›] [+R]

Select either M 1 or M 2 on the connected equipment. (You cannot switch between audio types during playback.)

When the output signal from the external equipment is NTSC, change the “TV System” to “NTSC” in the SETUP menu (l 42). This unit cannot record to discs containing both PAL and NTSC signals.

VHS

Insert a video cassette with an accidental erasure prevention tab. (l 48) Press [VHS].

[1]Press [REC MODE] to select the recording mode. (DVD l 23, VHS l 51)

DVD [RAM] [-R] [-RW‹V›] [+R]

-It is also possible to perform Flexible Recording (FR). (l 24)

[2]While stopped

Press [CH, W, X] or [INPUT SELECT] to select the input channel for the equipment you have connected.

Select AV1, AV2 or AV3.

1DVD

Follow the above steps 1 to 2.

[3]Start play on the external device.

[4]Press [¥, REC] at the point where you want to start recording.

1VHS

Follow the above steps 1 to 2.

[3]Press [1, PLAY].

Start playing the video cassette and find the recording start point.

[4]Press [;, PAUSE], then press [¥, REC].

Put the unit in recording standby mode.

Transferring (Dubbing)

[5] Start play on the external device.

[6] Press [;, PAUSE] at the point where you want to start recording.

To skip unwanted parts

Press [;, PAUSE] to pause recording. (Press again to restart recording.)

To stop recording

Press [, STOP].

For your reference

Almost all videos and DVD software on sale have been treated to prevent illegal copying. Such software cannot be recorded.
