Symptom

Nothing appears on the display

Won’t start

No playback tone heard

Probable cause

The batteries are not loaded properly.

The batteries are dead.

The recorder is in HOLD mode.

The earphone is connected.

The VOL button is set to 0.

The auto backspace review is set to “1 SEC SKIP” or “2 SEC SKIP”.
