Connecting via DIGITAL OUT

To build an audio system that supports Dolby Digital (AC-3), or to use an other DA converter or to copy audio digitally to a DAT or MD, DIGITAL OUT can be used.

7Connecting with a Dolby digital (AC-3) decoder

By connecting the XV-1000BK with an AC-3 decoder or an amplifier with a built-in AC-3 decoder, you can enjoy full audio sound from a DVD disc encoded with Dolby Digital (AC-3).

Connect the XV-1000BK’s DIGITAL OUT with the AC-3 digital input of an AC-3 decoder or an amplifier with a built-in AC-3 decoder using an optional digital cable.

A disc encoded with Dolby Digital (AC-3) indicates the symbol.

Note: Before actual usage, set “DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT” in the “PREFERENCE” display to “PCM/AC-3.” See “Preference via "PREFERENCE" on-screen dis- play” on pages 46, 47 and 48.
