Basic Setup

Connections

Before you can start using your new m25 player, you’ll have to install and connect a few things. This chapter describes how to install the battery and a memory card, and connect the player to the earphones and the Mini USB cable.

Battery/Memory Card

The m25 uses a single AAA battery that provides many hours of use. Either an alkaline (regular or rechargeable) or a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery can be used. The battery compartment cover must be removed before a battery can be installed. To remove the battery compartment cover:

1Press in the small latch while lifting off the back cover of the player. (See the picture on page 10.)

2If you want to install a memory card, slide it into the slot as shown on page 10.

3Install the battery with the flat end (the negative/- end) against the curled spring.

4Snap the cover back on. Make sure it’s lined up properly with the slots in the player body and the cutout for the Thumbstick.

Earphones

Connect the supplied earphones to the earphone jack on the top of the player (see page 9). Any quality audio earphones with a 3.5 mm stereo plug can be used with the m25. DO NOT use an earphone from a cell or cordless phone because the wiring is different and can damage the player.
