12 Using your mobile radios

When the other radio user has finished speaking you can respond.

When you are receiving a transmission you will notice the LCD outline stops flashing and distinguishes.

Channel scan

You can scan through the 8 channels on your

BT Freeway Mini to check for any activity and see which channels are in use and which are free. You can also scan through to locate another radio user in your group who has accidentally changed channels.

1.Press Menu twice. The icon is displayed along with either ––or y. ––indicates that scan is off and y indicates

that it is on. Press the or buttons to change

the current setting.

PTT

Either press the to save your new setting or leave the radio for 5 seconds and your current setting will be automatically saved, you will hear a confirmation beep.
