SECTION 6: MAINTENANCE
Disconnect power from the machine when per- forming any maintenance, assembly or adjustments. Failure to do this may result in serious personal injury.
Schedule
For optimum performance from your machine, follow this maintenance schedule and refer to any specific instructions given in this section.
Before Each Use
•Ensure mounting bolts are secure.
•Inspect sanding drums or sleeves for wear damage.
•check for worn or damaged wires.
•Check for any other unsafe condition that could hamper operation of this machine or cause potential injury.
After Each Use
•Turn OFF sander.
•Clean up any sawdust or particle residue from the machine.
Weekly Maintenance
•Thoroughly clean the spindle area and beneath the rotation mark plate as outlined on this page.
Monthly Maintenance
•Clean⁄vacuum dust buildup from inside the sander body and off the motor.
Cleaning
Cleaning the Model G0538 is relatively easy. Follow the Sleeve Installation instructions on Page 15, taking special care to clean every area thoroughly. However, sawdust and other particles can also work their way under the rotation mark plate.
To clean under the rotation mark plate:
