Set the fence square with the table. Hold the best face of the workpiece firmly against the fence throughout the feed. (Fig. 10)

CAUTION :

Cover the cutterhead with the safety cover when the fence is pulled out. (Fig.

11). However, never touch the safety cover when the jointer is running.

Jointing warped workpieces

If the workpiece is dished or warped, press down when the workpiece moves over the outfeed table to obtain a smooth surface. (Fig. 10)
