7. Remove the internal retaining ring (shown in Figure 6) with retaining-ring pliers.

8. Open the cabinet door, unlock the belt han- dle, and remove the V-belt from the spindle pulley (Figure 7).

9. Using a 5mm hex wrench, remove the cap screw and flat washer from the bottom of the pulley (Figure 7).

10. Disengage the spindle lock, and remove the spindle pulley and key located at the bottom of the spindle (Figure 7).

11. Place a 22" block of wood under the spindle, as shown in Figure 8. Lower the spindle by turning the elevation handle until the spindle can be removed from the top of the inside tube.

12. Place two blocks of wood with equal dimen- sion against the spindle with one of the bear- ings resting on top. Place as many shop rags as needed under the spindle to cushion the spindle when the bearing is removed. Use a dead blow hammer to lightly tap the spindle to remove the bearing, as shown in Figure 9.
