General maintenance instructions

Daily maintenance

1Check that the components of the throttle control work smoothly (throttle control and throttle trigger lock).

2Check the tension of the drive belt.

3Check the condition of the blade and the drive gear.

4Check the condition of the blade guard.

5Check the starter and starter cord and clean the outside of the starter unit’s air intake.

6Check that nuts and screws are tight.

7Check that the stop switch works correctly.

Weekly maintenance

8Check, clean or replace the main filter.

9Check that the handles and vibration damping elements are not damaged.

10Clean the spark plug. Check that the electrode gap is 0.020 inch (0.5 mm).

11Clean the fins on the flywheel. Check the starter and the recoil spring.

12Clean the cooling fins on the cylinder.

13Check that the muffler is securely attached and not damaged.

14Check the operation of the carburettor.

Monthly maintenance

15Check the paper filter

16Check the clutch centre, drive gear and clutch spring for wear.

17Clean the outside of the carburetor.

18Check fuel hose for cracks or other damage. Change if necessary.

19Clean the inside of the fuel tank.

20Check all cables and connections.
