6.Detach the button board (1) from the top cover. (The button board cable is attached to the the top cover with double-sided tape.)

7.Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw (2) that secures the button board to the top cover.

8.Remove the button board (3).

Reverse this procedure to install the button board.

RTC battery

Before removing the RTC battery, follow these steps:

1.Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

3.Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 28), and then remove the following components:

a.Service door (see Service door on page 30)

b.Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 41)

c.Top cover (see Top cover on page 45)

Remove the RTC battery:

1.Disconnect the RTC battery cable (1) from the system board.
