Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:

1.Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

3.Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 28), and then remove the following components:

a.Service door (see Service door on page 30)

b.WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 32)

c.WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 34)

d.Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 35)

e.Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 41)

f.Top cover (see Top cover on page 45)

g.Fan/heat sink assembly (see Fan/heat sink assembly on page 53)

h.System board (see System board on page 55)

i.Hinge cover and hinge cap (see Hinge cover on page 58)

Remove the display assembly:

1.Remove the two Phillips M2.0×5.0 screws (1) that secure the display assembly to the top cover.
