2 Installing and Configuring

This chapter provides information required in installing additional components and configuring the HP Integrity rx1620 Server.

Service Tools Required

Service of this product may require one or more of the following tools:

•IPF CPU Install Tool Kit (P/N 5069-5441), consisting of:

◦Disposable ESD Kit

◦Label-less CPU install tool (P/N 09901-04007)

•1/4 inch Flat Blade Screwdriver

•ACX-10 Torx Screwdriver

•ACX-15 Torx Screwdriver

•ACX-25 Torx Screwdriver

Installing Internal Hard Disk Drives

This section provides information about installing internal hard disk drives.

CAUTION: A hot-plug device may require interaction with the operating system before the device can be safely installed into the server. Verify that the operating system supports installing disk drives while the operating system is running. If the operating system does not support this feature, shut down the operating system before attempting this procedure. Failure to observe this caution will result in system failure.

One additional hard disk drive may be added to your HP Server in slot 1. Always use low profile disk drives (1.0” height) in your HP Integrity rx1620.

To install an additional hard disk drive, perform the following steps:
