Before removing the speakers, follow these steps:

1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 36).

5.Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 50

6.Remove the top cover (see Top cover on page 53).

Remove the speakers:

1.Position the base enclosure with the front edge toward you.

2.Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the system board.

3.Remove the three silver Phillips 2.0×6.0 screws (2) that secure the speakers to the enclosure.

NOTE: There are rubber grommets on each of the three screw holes. If you need to replace the speakers, confirm that these rubber grommets are also replaced before installing another speakers.

4.Remove the speakers (3).
