1 HP-UX Installation

This chapter provides procedures to install the AH303A Host Bus Adapter. This chapter includes the following topics:

NOTE: If you received the AH303A Host Bus Adapter as a factory-integrated card (ordered with product option 0D1), no installation is necessary.

Installation Overview

To install your AH303A Host Bus Adapter, follow these steps:

1.Confirm that all of the installation prerequisites are met. See “Installation Prerequisites.”

2.If you are installing the adapter online, use the swlist command to confirm that the minimum supported SerialSCSI-00 operating system driver version is installed.

3.Install the adapter.

To install the adapter offline, follow the steps in “Installing the Adapter Hardware Offline” (page 13).

To install the adapter online, follow the steps in “Installing the Adapter Hardware Online” (page 14).

4.Configure the adapter.

5.Connect the external disk enclosures.

IMPORTANT: The internal port of the AH303A adapter is not supported in HP Integrity servers.

Installation Prerequisites

Before installing the AH303A adapter, be sure the following hardware and software prerequisites are met:

1.Confirm that the controller is supported with your server model and HP-UX version.
