Picture Control

Selects the picture control for the video signals output from the AV output jacks.

You can adjust the DVD video signal from the recorder to obtain the picture quality you want.

Select the setting that best suits the programme you are watching.

Dynamic 1 : Produces a bold dynamic picture by increasing the picture contrast and the colour.

Dynamic 2 : Produces a more dynamic picture than “Dynamic 1” by further increasing the picture contrast and the colour.

Standard : Displays a standard picture (function turned off ).

Cinema 1 : White colours become brighter and black colours become richer,and the colour contrast is increased.

Cinema 2 : Enhances detail in dark areas by increasing the black level.

Personal : Adjusts Contrast, Brightness, Colour and Hue using ▲▼◄► buttons.

MThis function can only be used when you have the Video Out

(AV out) jacks connected and does not work with Component and HDMI.

AV1 Output

You can enjoy high quality image through Video or RGB connections. Only one of these signals can be selected at one time.

Video : Video output is available connecting component (Y, PB, PR) or scart jack(AV1)

RGB : RGB video output is available connecting scart jack(AV1). When you set “AV 1 Output” to “RGB”, you should set “Component Out” and “Progressive” to “Off”.

Component Out

Selects whether or not to output video signals from the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks.

On : Outputs the component video signals. Select this when you want to view progressive signals.

Off : Outputs no signals.

Progressive

This function is available when video output is component. This setting enables you to select a desired progressive mode. To view “Progressive scan mode”, first connect the component cable. (See page 20) Be sure the Component cables are connected properly.

MWhen the HDMI cable (not supplied) is connected, “Off” can not be selected.

Progressive setting is only available when the Recorder is in stop mode.
