Dolby Surround modes

Press the Dolby Surround button.

PRO-Logic is selected, and the playback sound has the Dolby Surround effect.

To cancel Dolby Surround mode

Press the Dolby Surround button repeatedly until PASS is displayed.

When playing DVD, if an Audio is Dolby Digital, it can not be operated.

When being connected to headphones and microphone, this function cannot be operated.

Additional Dolby Surround modes

In addition to the PRO-Logic mode, this unit is also equipped with the 3 STEREO modes.

PRO-Logic :Use this mode when rear speakers are connected. The center channel signals are output through the left and right speakers.

3 STEREO : Use this mode when no rear speakers are connected. This mode reproduces rear sounds through the front speakers.

PRO-Logic 3 STEREO PASS

Depending on the sound source or listening conditions, a surround effect may not be obtained even when the Dolby Surround is on.

The full Dolby Surround effect cannot be obtained when using soft-

ware without mark. In this case, use the DSP system instead.

Adjusting Speaker Level Balance

The unit is equipped with a built-in test signal generator called a noise sequencer which outputs a noise signal that ‘travels’ from channel to channel. This enables the simple adjustment of sound levels, to achieve, at the listening position, the same apparent loudness from each channel. Use the remote control.

1 Press the Dolby Surround button.

Result: “ PRO-LOGIC appears on the displayed.

Press the Test Tone button.

 

 

 

 

 

A noise signal is sent to each channel in turn in the following

 

sequence.

(L : Left Speaker, CNTR : Center Speaker,

 

R : Right Speaker, REAR : Rear Speaker)

Press the Test Tone button again to stop the noise signal.

To change the sound levels or delay time after adjusting the balance

 

with the noise sequencer.

 

 

 

 

Press the Sound Edit button.

While L, R, CNTR, REAR is displayed, press the UP/DOWN ( / ) button.

Press the Speaker Mode button.

While CNTR, REAR, DELAY TIME is displayed, press the UP/DOWN ( / ) button.

CNTR : Large/Small/None

REAR : USE/None

DELAY TIME : 15/20/25/30 MS

When the Dolby surround system is on, this function can be operated.
